I thought it was the best bbq I've had in otero county in a number of years! I had a beef rib platter and it was great. I especially liked the corn on the cob. I would definitely go back!
Ate here with a friend for lunch today. I had a BBQ baked potato and my friend had a pulled pork sandwich. Meat on both orders was plentiful and delicious. BBQ sauce was outstanding. Cute little family-run place. Would definitely eat here again!
They've got some pretty rough reviews here, so I almost didn't go in, but the other bbq place in Cloudcroft (Mad Jack's) was sold out when I got there at 3:30 in the afternoon (I've read that that's very common with them, and doesn't seem very customer friendly to me). This place is literally just a hundred feet or so from Mad Jack's an has pretty good brisket and beef ribs (all we tried), and the sides were very good. I'm from central texas and this isn't really like the bbq I'm used to, which is smokier and saltier, and i'm not a fan of them putting the sauce on for you after they slice the meat (that's seems an eastern thing to me, like bbq I had in memphis). Still pretty darned good I'd go back.
Food used to be REALLY good here about 7 years ago but its not the same people running it anymore. Currently these are the original owners. There was someone else renting it before and he knew what he was doing.
I would give NO STAR if possible. My family and I visited for Labor Day Weekend and felt discriminated by the Owners. Poor customer service when we walked in; no smile, rushing us to order. Lady starting yelling at me due to a misunderstanding with outside drinks policy. We didn't touch the food and asked for a refund but that didn't happen. Felt very discriminated and called the authorities. Believe it or not, I am filling a civil law suit. No business owner should treat you like this! Don's risk it and go somewhere else. I made the mistake of not reading reviews before entering. No wonder the restaurant was empty...
