The place is charming with its 60s kitchenette and mountain backdrop. The family ownership also adds charm as they all pitch in to make the place run smoothly. However do not expect to be able to charge phones and work on a computer at the same time because there is not enough electrical outlets.

Basic get out and do cabin, like you'd find at the beach. A clean place to sleep, an equipped kitchen. Comfy bed, small bathroom.

Quiet cozy and friendly staff. The rooms are clean with a cute little kitchen that comes with pans a few plates and cups . The restrooms are nice and clean and kept up to date. It's a perfect place for a weekend getaway.

In fact, after a fitful night’s rest, we packed up and drove away before daylight. We didn’t stop until we had breakfast in Alamogordo.

The Summit Inn is simply awful.

Now, probably this intruder just was lost or drunk, but HE HAD A KEY.

The room carpet was old, dirty-looking shag. My wife refused to remove her shoes while in the room. There were not enough electrical outlets. The TV and the cable box each required a plug, so if you wanted to plug in the coffee maker, you had to turn off the TV. This was not really a problem because the cord from the coffee maker was too short to reach that outlet anyway. To charge our cell phones, we plugged into the outlet in the bathroom. The sink/refrigerator appliance looked like one I had in military housing in Hawaii in 1969 – it might have been nice then. The shower was tiny and disgusting. The shower head was black with corrosion or something.

I called the manager. His first words were, “Had you locked the door?” Well, gee, would I lock the door to a filthy little hotel room? Of course, I had locked the door. Bottom line – I told him my wife and I would be leaving first thing in the morning.

Wonderful place to stay overnight. Very friendly staff!

Even though we had two nights reserved, my wife and I had already decided to leave the next day. About 10:00 PM, the doorknob was jiggled and then a key opened the door and a man started to enter the room. I shouted “Hey” as I rushed the door and the intruder backed away and left.
