Waitress was very helpful but it took an hour and a half to get our food and the chicken strips were frozen.

Decent atmosphere and interesting mix of people. Faster service if you sit at the bar. Had their Jalisco chicken which was off the hook flavorful. My husband had the patty melt first night we ate there and was disappointed in the amount of cheese. He ordered the Chicken Fried Steak sandwich the next dinner there and really enjoyed it. The drinks were a little on the weak side but maybe that is intentional because on both nights we went there were a couple raucous individuals who were obviously there to get smashed. My husband loved that they had Kilt Lifter beer there. The staff was friendly even though they were super busy. Cash only bar but they have an ATM inside.

Walked in and was greeted by a biker gang. They all looked at me, I looked at them. After finding a seat at the bar, I became disoriented by all the dollar bills signed by travellers over the history of the bars existance. The bartender was busy, but blissfully nice and able to assess our needs well. I had the regular cheeseburger with green chili and tots. A well made burger that was satisfying till every last bite. Highly recommend this place if you are stopping through or camping nearby.

I have been visiting Cloudcroft for the past 30 years and have always been looking for food that I truly loved. Today, I found it! I ordered their chicken enchiladas with red and green sauce and it was magnificent. Delicious cheese and onion, succulent chicken, and an overall delicate (but SUPER spicy) flavor profile. Chips and salsa were complimentary and I can honestly say that of the MANY Mexican restaurants I've visited, this salsa put the others to shame. The delicate chips were the perfect compliment to the robust salsa. The atmosphere is pretty divey, but don't let this dissuade you from a wonderful dining experience. Our server was friendly and I enjoyed the laid-back atmosphere. Thank you, The Western, for providing such delicious food at great prices and with generous proportions!

Avoid at all cost. Two servers on labor day weekend when most of Texas has invaded New Mexico and they only accept cash what a great business plan. We'll never bother to stop there again and you shouldn't either.
